PI - William J. Tyler, Ph.D. Curriculum Vitae Email Dr. Tyler has over 15 years of academic training and research experience in neuroscience. He received his B.S. and Ph.D. from the University of Alabama at Birmingham before conducting a postdoctoral fellowship in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology at Harvard University. Dr. Tyler was a National Institutes of Health, National Institute of Neurological Diseases and Stroke predoctoral and postdoctoral fellow. Dr. Tyler has utilized cutting-edge technology to investigate a wide range of problems in modern neuroscience including obesity, pain, cognition (learning/memory), neuronal communication, and neuronal plasticity. He is a proven leader in applying optical and electrophysiological methods to identify and investigate brain circuit function. He has recently developed noninvasive brain stimulation methods using pulsed ultrasound, which will have a major impact on emerging therapeutic neuromodulation markets.
